Darrell E. Abbott

Darrell Eugene Abbott, age 78, of Worden, MT passed away on June 17, 2025, at the Villa River Ridge Assisted Living in Billings after a very brief battle with cancer.
Darrell was born on May 21, 1947, in Lewistown, MT. He was the son of Granville and Addie (Osbourne) Abbott. He grew up on the family ranch near Gilt Edge, MT. He graduated from Fergus County High School in Lewistown. He was enlisted in the United States Army on August 10, 1966 and served almost twelve months over in Vietnam earning several service medals in the process and was honorably discharged on August 9, 1968. He went back to the family ranch and as life went on, he ended up purchasing his own place in Worden, MT where he made his home farming and ranching all the way up until he passed away. Darrell kept his yards and buildings immaculate and clean. He enjoyed his packing trips for hunting and fishing and truly loved the outdoors. He loved animals and especially taking care of his many dogs on the home front. For anyone that shared a drink with Darrell also knew his love for Montana History.
Darrell was preceded in death by his parents and his siblings.
He is survived by his son Chance of Miles City, MT and a son Chad of Germany, numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, June 25th, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at the Gilt Edge Cemetery in Gilt Edge, MT with full military honors. Condolences may be sent to the family by visiting: www.stevensonandsons.com.
