Darrell Edward Beeler, age 72, of Maryville, Tennessee, passed away on May 08, 2025.

Darrell was born on June 1, 1952 in Maryville to Glenn and Iva Beeler. He graduated from Friendsville High School in 1970 and went on to serve in the United States Army, retiring as Staff Sergeant in 1996. He was a veteran of the Gulf War and was honored with the Bronze Star Medal, Army Achievement Medal, National Defense Service Medal, and many more military honors and recognitions.

He married Barbara Jean Benson on June 30, 1973, and together they shared 51 years of marriage, raised two children, and lived around the world as they built their lives together.

Darrell is survived by his wife, Barbara, children Abigail Beeler and Patrick (Mandie) Beeler, granddaughter Easton Beeler, siblings Dennis Beeler, James Beeler, Tammy Beeler, Linda Beeler, and Doug Beeler, and many extended family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Although Darrell lived all over the world during his life, his favorite place was his home in East Tennessee. He loved sitting on his back porch, enjoying the outdoors, and spending time with his family while doting on his beloved dog, Snitzel. He was a big fan of the Green Bay Packers, Atlanta Braves, and Tennessee Volunteers. His only grandchild, Easton, was the absolute light of his life, and being her Poppy brought him such joy.

The family will receive friends on Monday, May 12 from 5:00 - 7:00pm at Smith Funeral Home in Maryville. A military graveside service will follow on Tuesday, May 13, 2025 at 9:00am at Grandview Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, Tennessee Alzheimer’s Association, or Random Acts of Flowers Knoxville in Darrell’s memory.
