Darrell Blausey, 88, of Curtice, Ohio, passed away peacefully on December 7, 2024 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Perrysburg, leaving behind a legacy of love, kindness, and dedication to his family and faith.
Born into a farming family, Darrell worked alongside his father, Herman, on the family farm until the age of 26. Instilling in him a strong work ethic and deep connection to the land. Later, he retired at the age of 65 from Textile Leather, where he was a valued and hard-working employee.
Darrell was the proud father of two sons, Darrell (wife Kimberly) and Charles, and a devoted grandfather to Samantha and Jenna (husband Tyler Lawson). He adored his great-grandson. Liam, who brought him so much joy in his later years. Darrell’s surviving family also includes his brothers, Robert and Ronald, who cherished their bond with him.
A man of profound faith, Darrell watched church services every Sunday and read the Bible in its entirety multiple times. He lived independently until his passing, embodying a life of strength, simplicity, and grace.
Darrell took pleasure in life’s quiet moments, whether it was taking long walks, watching WWE wrestling, or spending precious time with his family. He was known for his selflessness, always putting others before himself, and for his unwavering love for those around him.
Darrell’s family will always remember him as a man of deep love, steadfast faith, and quiet strength. His memory will be a guiding light for all who knew and loved him.
Services will be held at Freck Funeral Chapel located at 1155 S. Wynn Road, Oregon, Ohio 43616. Visitation will be on December 11, 2024 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m with a funeral service beginning at 12 p.m. Interment at Elliston Cemetery will follow. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
