Darrell Cecil Brown

Darrell Cecil Brown, 92, formerly of Viola, MN passed away peacefully on December 5, 2025 at Prairie Meadows Living Center in Kasson, MN.

Darrell was born on April 18, 1933 near Pleasant Grove, MN to Cecil and Ione (Smith) Brown. He grew up in Stewartville on the family farm. On September 15, 1951 he married LaVonne Harvey. They were later divorced. He then married Marilynn Laures in 1980. Darrell farmed and worked for Quarve & Anderson Inc. until his retirement. He loved camping, fishing, playing pool and playing cards. He will be deeply missed.

He is survived by his children Larry (Sue) Brown of Rochester, Scott Brown of Red Wing, Patty (Ron) Wehrs of Rochester, Holly (Barry) Hentz of Zumbrota, his step-children Leonard (Sharon) Laures, Jerry (Julie) Laures, Kathryn (Paul) Schwartz, Jolene (Richard) Flicker, 12 grandchildren and 14 step-grandchildren along with numerous great grandchildren and step-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his wife Marilynn, three sons Ricky, Jimmy, Gary, his brother Leonard, his sister Beverly and his parents.

The funeral service for Darrell will be held Tuesday, December 9, 2025 at 11:00AM in the River Park Chapel at Macken Funeral Home officiated by Pastor Karen Foster. Visitation will be held starting one hour prior to the service, in the chapel. Burial will be at Grandview Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Rochester, MN.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to St. Croix Hospice.
