Darrell L. Bunting, 67 of Brookport, Illinois, passed away on Monday, November 24, 2025 at his home surrounded by his loving family.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 26, 2025 at Aikins-Farmer-Loftus-McManus Funeral Home with Bro. Nathan Martin officiating. Burial will follow in Metropolis Memorial Gardens.

Darrell started working for United City Gas, currently Atmos, in 1976. He retired as a foreman after 44 years in February 2020. Darrell was a member of Waldo Baptist Church and enjoyed many hobbies in his spare time such as golf, cooking, hunting, horses, farming, and cattle. What he enjoyed most though, aside from his Dr. Pepper, was spending time with his family and grandbaby.

Darrell is survived by his wife of 33 years, DeLisa (Paddock) Bunting; son, Matthew Hape and wife Heather; daughter, Lauren Thomson and husband Hunter; grandchildren, Keira and Bryan Chaney and Ayla Hape; brother, Donald Bunting and wife Paula; sister, Bernice Bunting; sisters-in-law, DeLois Paddock and DeShannan Paddock; brother-in-law, Clifford Paddock and wife Karla; several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, cousins and extended family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jimmie and June Bunting.

Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 26th at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be given in Darrell's name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude’s Place, Memphis, TN 38105. Condolences for the family may be left online at www.aikinsfarmer-millerfh.com.

Pallbearers will be Matthew Hape, Hunter Thomson, Bryan Chaney, Bryan Bunting, Will Renschler, and Clifford Paddock.
