Darrell Bekenneth Gardner, II, age 45, of Roosevelt, passed away December 16, 2023, at the Ashley Regional Medical Centerafter a long illness.
He was born September 19, 1978, in Roosevelt, to Darrell B. Gardner and Glenda Alhandra Harris.
Darrell was a free-spirit and didn’t stay in one place for long. He would often be gone for long periods of time and then show up unexpectedly. He helped people when he could and was very generous with his things. He liked to make people laugh. He loved being a grandfather and spending time with his grandkids and kids.
Darrell is survived by his children, Destiny Gardner, Devin Gardner, both of North Dakota; Drazen Gardner, Roosevelt; five grandchildren; siblings, Kimberly (Keith) Bussell; Terrance Poowegup; Halona (Roger) Cook; Carrie Chidester; Arlene (Joe) Noble; Sam Slim, Velda Rasmussen, Tasha Gardner, Yvette Christensen, Trina Gardner, Gary Gardner, Roger Gardner, Tonya Gardner; aunts, Pauline Black and Angie (Dale) Shavanaux.
He was preceded in death by his son Deon Gardner, and his parents.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 20th, at 10:00 a.m. at the Hullinger Mortuary with a final viewing to follow.
After the services, he was cremated.
