To Aunt Inez, Carol, Brenda and family,
Just wanted to let you know that you are in my thoughts and prayers. I remember the first time that the Faithful Hearts went to Barkers Grove to sing. Lane seemed like he was so excited to have us there. Every time that we went back to Barkers Grove the choir would sing and he would be right up there singing his heart out for the Lord. After he had gotten sick and I would call him he would talk about his illness and he would tell me that he had not even shedded a tear over his illness. He would say if the Lord healed him from the cancer that would be great, but if he did not that would be great also, because he knew where he would be when he left this life. Every time that we spoke he always seemed to have such a peace about him. That said alot to me about how God was taking care of him. I love you all very much. Pat

Inez and Carol - Just wanted you to know that I enjoyed taking care of Darrell very much. I only wish I had met him before he became so ill. I know Darrell was a special person to many people. He will be missed and remembered a great deal for all he did for others. You need to get some much needed rest. Let me know if I can do anything. Darrell was one of the first people that I met at Barker’s Grove Church. We had came for our first Sunday and were waiting outside for Sunday School to be over. Darrell pulled up for church. He got out of his truck and came straight to us and shook my husbands hand and gave me a hug and said he was glad to have us there. He didn’t miss giving me hug every Sunday he was there. He really made us feel welcome and you knew he was glad that you were there. Even when his health had him down and you knew he didn’t feel good he still came in gave me a hug and a smile. The first song I heard him sing was Supper Time and I haven’t heard it since that I haven’t thought of him. Now he is having supper in Heaven!
