Darrell E. Hampp

1952 - 2023

Darrell E. Hampp, 70, of Wapakoneta, died 2:00 p.m., Wed. Jan. 11, 2023, at his home with his family at his side. He was born May 3, 1952, in Lima, OH, the son of the late Wendell & Mary (Coplin) Hampp. On May 26, 1972 he married Dianne L. Davis, and she preceded him in death on May 12, 2000. Then on Oct. 16, 2006 he married Jan Shulaw, and she died May 5, 2011.

4 children, Floyd "Bill" (Rory) Hampp, Livonia, MI,
Wendi Hampp, Wapakoneta,
Marianne Jackson (fiancée-Brad Dudgeon), Wapakoneta,
Brittany (Peter) Heindel, Wapakoneta;
8 grandchildren, Andrew, Braxton, Micaiah, Skylin, Brock, Sarah, Rachel, & Anna;
a sister, Nancy Hampp (Jack Farsht), Wapakoneta,

He was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Doris Hampp.

Darrell worked as a welder at Setex, St. Marys. Prior to that, he had worked at B.& M. Meats, Wapakoneta. He was a 1970 graduate of Wapakoneta High School, and a member of the Cridersville Historical Society. Darrell enjoyed motor sports, especially NASCAR and go-karts. He also enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m., Tue. Jan. 17, 2023, at the Eley Funeral Home & Crematory, St. Rt. 501, with Pastor Tony Dirr officiating. Burial will follow in the Resthaven Memory Gardens, Moulton, OH. The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m., Mon. Jan. 16, & 1 hr. prior to the services Tues., at the funeral home.
