So sad to hear.We lived across the street from his mother. He was always over at her house mowing the yard and taking care of her. We had a big garden and i always gave him fresh veggies. He was a very nice person and always watching out for everybody. We moved to Pearland TX in 1982 but we went back to mow our lot and he would always drive by and stop and chat. May he rest in angels arms..

I worked with Darrell from the early 70's through the time he retired. He was an amazing man and a great friend. Whether doing his job or socializing, Darrell was always a warm and friendly person, who had an almost magical calming effect on people. This man will be remembered by many. And, I will cherish the friendship we had for all of my remaining days.
May peace be with Carolyn and family, knowing what a good man he was.

I will keep the family in prayer; I knew Mr. Mayfield at HL&P from 1975 until 1988. I would see him work his yard on Anderson RD. at home and he always treated me with respect and always had something nice to say to me. May God bless him in his kingdom. Darrell Newton, Houston, Tx.
