Darrell Wayne Smith

Darrell Wayne Smith, age 54 of Decherd, passed away on Sunday, January 11, 2026, at Tri-Star Centennial Medical Center in Nashville. A native of Franklin County, he was born in Winchester on October 25, 1971. He had previously been employed as a brick mason. An avid outdoorsman, Darrell enjoyed fishing and tending to his yard and garden, as well as cheering for Alabama Crimson Tide football. He was master of the grill and loved to cook for his family and friends. Darrell had a wonderful sense of humor combined with a very big heart. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him. Darrell was preceded in death by his father, Jerry F. Smith Sr; grandparents, Ed and Auline Street and Charnel and Georgie Smith; uncles, Phillip Street, Steven Street, and Mike Smith; aunts, Sharon Pickett, Mary Morrow, and Martha Sue Robinson; nephew, Charlie W. Smith; and cousin, Angela K. Rollins He is survived by his mother, Mary Ann Smith; daughters, Amber-Leigh Whittemore (Cage Sabo), and Andrea Smith; stepdaughter, Nialayiah Baker; granddaughters, Harper Jade Brann and Hallie Jo Brann; sister, Daphney (Johnny) Martin; and stepsiblings, Jerry Smith Jr and Melissa Smith.
