Darrell Ubert Obituary
Darrell was a life-long parishioner of St. Francis of Assisi, and long-time usher. He was an avid bowler that bowled in countless leagues including his all lefty team and participated in the National Bowling Tournament for over 25 years, a life-long baseball fan, and loved betting on dog races.
Darrell is preceded in death by his parents, Alphonse and Emma Ubert; brother, Jerry Ubert. Survived by his wife, Arlene K. Ubert; sons, Joe (MaryAnn) Ubert, James Ubert, John (Linda) Ubert; grandchildren, Conner, Lakin, Taylor, Landon, Madison, Trevor, Jack, Olivia, John Paul, Eden; great-grandchildren, Alex, Sophia, Isabelle, Leo; and sister, Carol. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established with: Alzheimer's Association, Central & Western Kansas, 535 West Douglas, Suite 150, Wichita, KS 67213. Services in care of Downing & Lahey Mortuary - West Chapel.

I was with TWA for 20plus years. I worked in a number of stations and with quite a few fellow employees. I would say Darrell was among the top people I was fortunate to work with. He was always a gentleman no matter what the situation, and in the airline business that ran the spectrum from good to bad. He never lost his "cool". He was very knowledgeable of TWA´s policies and procedures, and was liked and more importantly, respected by his fellow employees and customers. In Wichita, he was Mr. TWA. It saddens me to know he has passed on and left a hole in the hearts of his family and friends but I know he is home now with his loved ones that have gone before him.
Darrell you were an example for others to follow and you will be missed.

Darrell had THE BEST laugh! He was such a great guy to work with, never buckled under pressure and never lost his temper. He made TWA such a great place to work and the world a much better place. RIP... You are missed.
