Darrell Gene Wethington

Darrell Gene Wethington, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on December 4, 2025, at the age of 66. Born on October 9, 1959, in Versailles, KY, Darrell lived a life defined by kindness, quiet strength, and deep devotion to the people he loved.
Darrell grew up with a strong work ethic and a generous heart, qualities that guided him throughout his life. He dedicated over 30 years to being a Brick Mason, where he earned the respect and admiration of colleagues and friends alike. Outside of work, he found joy in playing guitar, watching Kentucky Wildcats sports, Horse racing enthusiast and woodworking (in his younger years), and he was always happiest when sharing those passions with others.
Family was the center of Darrell's world. He is survived by Monica Wethington, his devoted wife; his children Adam (Misty) Zornes, Melissa Wilson, Michelle (Wendi) MIller and Andrew Wethington, who will forever cherish his guidance and unconditional love; and his grandchildren & great grandchildren Destinee Zornes, Trinity Zornes, Mackenzie Zornes, Brendan Zornes, Emma Zornes, Dylan Wilson, Justin Wilson, Dalton Wilson, Jasmine Wethington, Archer Wethington and Jaxon Jones, who brought him immeasurable pride and joy. He is also survived by Otha (Loretta) Wethington Jr., Rose Roe, Robert (Linda) Wethington, and many close friends he would always consider close family. Darrell was preceded in death by Otha & Rose Wethington (parents), Steve and Larry Wethington (brothers), Verna Murphy (sister), Jessica Wethington (daughter), and Angel Zornes (granddaughter)
Darrell will be remembered for his steady presence, his warm smile, and the way he made every person feel valued and heard. His legacy lives on in the many lives he touched through his generosity, integrity, and unwavering love.

A celebration of Darrell's life will be Monday, December 15, 2025, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Faith Baptist Church, 3692 Huntertown Road, Versailles, KY 40383. Pastor Joe Collins will be officiating.
