Obituary
Guest Book
With deep love and sorrow, we announce the passing of Darrell Maurice Williams, who transitioned from this life on June 13, 2025, at the age of 71.
Darrell was born on February 6, 1954, in St. Louis, Missouri, and spent the majority of his life in Chicago, Illinois — a city that helped shape the man so many came to admire. He lived the last decade of his life in Kankakee, IL.
A devoted father, Darrell is survived by his beloved daughter, Jeanine, and son-in-law, Robert. He leaves behind three cherished grandchildren — Jalen, Jaden, and Amari — who were a source of great pride. He was preceded in death by his son, Maurice. He is also mourned by four sisters, two brothers, a partner in love, Sheral, and a host of loving nieces, nephews, and lifelong childhood friends whose lives were forever touched by his presence.
Darrell had a deep love for family, a fierce appreciation for sports and competition, and a joyfully sharp sense of humor that could lighten any room. His gentle, adoring smile was as much a part of his identity as the unwavering work ethic that defined his life. He worked tirelessly — with pride and dignity — until his body would no longer allow it.
To know Darrell was to be impacted by his quiet strength, his warmth, and the sincere way he connected with others. He left an impression on nearly everyone he met, and his absence will be deeply felt.
His memory will live on in the laughter of his grandchildren, the stories shared by those who loved him, and the values he passed on through a life well-lived.
Rest easy, Darrell. Your gifts, your love, and your legacy will never be forgotten.
