Darren Brown Obituary

Published by Legacy on Nov. 13, 2025.
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Darren Keith Brown, who left this world on October 22, 2025. Darren was born on November 7, 1964, to no Merle Brown and Kathy Crowder.
Darren was preceded in death by his father, Merle Brown, and his brother, Tony Brown. He is survived by his mother, Kathy Crowder; sisters, Lisa Wade and Ericka Sears; brother, Merle Brown; daughter, Ciara Carey and son-in-law, Adam Carey; and two grandchildren, Brenden Carey and Brantley Carey, whom he adored deeply.
A Life of Hard Work and Heart
Darren dedicated 19 years of his career to working as a warehouse manager at Staples, where his leadership and dedication left a lasting mark on those around him. After retiring, he pursued his entrepreneurial spirit and became a general contractor, building homes with pride and care in every detail.
A Spirit Full of Energy
Darren was known for his witty charm, boundless energy, and ability to make anyone laugh. He attended North Kansas City School District, where he formed lifelong friendships that stood the test of time. He had a wild and adventurous side - whether it was riding jet skis, tearing up trails in his side-by-side and four-wheeler, or simply sharing stories that made everyone around him smile, Darren's zest for life was unmatched. He loved fishing in the quiet hours of the morning and watching NASCAR races on TV. Though he was small in stature, Darren's big personality and fearless nature shone through - especially when challenging someone twice his size to an arm-wrestling match. He always said, "No one can beat me," and most of the time, he was right.
A Message of Hope
Darren's passing reminds us of the importance of caring for one another and reaching out when life feels overwhelming. If you or someone you love is struggling with depression or thoughts of suicide, please know that help is available, and you are not alone. Darren's memory will live on in the hearts of his family, friends, and all who knew him. He will be deeply missed, and life will never be quite the same without his laughter and light.
May you rest in peace, Darren.
