He was born to Charles and Arlys (Crandall) Heger on August 16, 1963 in Oakes, where he grew up and attended school graduating from Oakes High School. He worked at Schaeffer Seed in Oakes until its closing. Slick then started his lawn care business mowing lawns which he did up until the time of his death.
He is survived by his siblings: Paul (Paulette) Heger, Fargo, ND, Charlene Bassett, Fargo, ND, Robin (Kelly) Kersting, Oakes, ND, Russell (Brenda) Heger, Wahpeton, ND, James (Teri) Heger, Papillion, NE and Alan (Tammy) Heger, Gwinner, ND; brother-in-law, Randy Else, Oakes, ND and many nieces and nephews.
Slick was preceded in death by his parents; brothers: Steven, Timothy and Michael; and sisters: Pamela Heger and Debra Else.
A celebration of life memorial service will be held on Friday, October 3, 2025 at 5:00 p.m. at Dahlstrom Funeral Home in Oakes. His service will be live streamed below.
