Daren was always Darren. He took me to my first (and only) Gold and Green Ball. We did not dance. We went outside, in the dark, with a million stars lighting the heavens, and we laid down in the quiet on the cool grass looking up at God's creation. He held my hand, that's all. We didn't say a word, not for 20 minutes. Pure peace, joy of being with someone who just wanted to be with me. Even though we were just kids, he showed me what a man could be... quite, in control, peaceful, sure. Knowing that he has passed away leaves a hole in my life. I have thought and spoken of him often throughout the years. God Bless you Darren
