Darren Lynn Naylor, born on March 7, 1960, in Hobbs, New Mexico, departed this world on February 27, 2026, in Casper, Wyoming. He lived an incredibly vibrant life, embodying the spirit of adventure from an early age. Born into the oil field, Darren spent his life chasing his ‘mistress’, as he called it! His father broke him out in the oil field when Darren was in high school in hopes of settling down his ‘energetic’ son. He started out with Maranco Drilling, moving rigs and oilfield equipment. Over the years, he worked his way up rapidly from roughneck to directional driller, tool pusher, drilling consultant, and superintendent. He owned D&B Service and Consulting and had been getting his work gear ready to go on a job for Encompass Energy Consulting LLC at the time of his passing. His career was marked by hard work and dedication, but it was his zest for life and the memorable experiences he created that truly defined him.

Darren was a man of remarkable character—bigger than life itself. He never met a stranger and possessed an infectious energy that drew people to him. He was generous, fun-loving, and had a sharp sense of humor that could brighten any room. Known as the life of the party, Darren was a big teddy bear, beloved by many across the country. He cherished his family, friends, and the connections he forged, all while adhering to his motto, “It's not the years, it's the miles,” a testament to the countless experiences he packed into his lifetime.

His greatest adventures were shared with his life partner, Brenda. Together, they created a tapestry of memories, from the thrilling highs of winning a quarter million dollars in Las Vegas to the more precarious situations, like almost getting shot in Washington, D.C. Their escapades were nothing short of legendary, golfing with alligators in South Carolina and embarking on unplanned journeys that would leave most astounded. For those fortunate enough to know him, a "Darren Adventure" was something most would only ever witness on television!

Darren’s spirit was not confined to narrow interests. He embraced a multitude of hobbies, from playing hockey to riding motorcycles and snowmobiles, and attending political events. He was a cowboy at heart, a skilled pool player, an expert fisherman, and never shied away from camping trips, often bringing along a lighthearted sense of fun and camaraderie. His charisma and charm were only magnified by his appreciation for life’s lighter moments.

Though he fought a hard battle in his last year, Darren remained steadfast in his promise to his beloved bonus daughter, Veronica, ensuring he would be there for her wedding. His dedication to family and commitment to love drove him during challenging times, showcasing his tenacity and unwavering spirit.

Darren leaves behind a loving family, including his life partner Brenda Johnson, sister Teresa (Bob Maxeiner), brother Bud (Betty), half-brothers Shannon (Darcy) and Dustin Naylor, half-sister Tina (Bruce Kirby), and bonus daughter Veronica (Thomas Lopez). He is also survived by numerous other family members, nephews, nieces, and friends who will forever treasure his legacy.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Connell and Doris, step-father Larry, and half-brother Shane. They now welcome him into their embrace as he embarks on yet another adventure.

In every corner of his life, Darren sowed seeds of laughter, joy, and unforgettable tales. His impact, marked by his larger-than-life persona, will echo in the hearts of all who loved him. As we gather our memories and experiences shared with him, we cherish the rich tapestry of adventure he wove, keeping his spirit alive among us as we navigate the miles ahead.

Friends and family are invited to join Darrens’ Celebration of Life Party, June 6th at 2:00pm at the PV Country Club (back bar), 70 Magnolia Casper WY.
