Darries Glen Smith

Darries Glen Smith, 85 of Chapmanville, WV, departed this life on November 24, 2025 at his son's home who he lived with.
He was born November 19, 1940 in Revelo, KY the son of the late Othel Smith and Lena Crabtree Smith.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Smith and one brother, Lowel Smith.
Darries enjoyed fishing, hunting, traveling and anything outdoors. He loved mowing the grass. Darries was an employee for nineteen years at the Youngstown Coal Company in Dehue, WV. He retired from Dupont Chemical Co. in Parkersburg, WV.
Those left to cherish his memory include two daughters, Leisha (Steve) Roberts of Caldwell, OH, and Darissa (John) Meade of Chapmanville; sons, Kevin (Niwana) Smith of Chapmanville and Darries Glen Smith Jr (Julie) of Madison; one stepdaughter, Tammy Milam; three sisters, Norma (Edwin) Justice of Monroe, MI, Wanda Marcum of Oneida, TN and Judy Gates of Michigan; one brother, Conley (Paula) Smith of Ypsilanati, MI; six grandchildren, Erica Smith, Haley Spradlin (Max), Heather Meade (Adam), Lillie Smith, Ava Smith, and Gavin Smith, two step grandchildren, Sadie Stumbo and Raveyn Stumbo; great grandchildren, Cheyenne Smith, Tucker Norman, Freya Spradlin, and Nora Spradlin; the mother of his children, Lillian Porter Smith Richards.
The family would like to thank Dignity Hospice, Hope, Rachel, Emelia, and especially Pring for being so good to him.
Graveside service was held Saturday, November 29, 2025 at the Pine Knot Cemetery.
