Darryl Lane Cazes

Darryl Lane Cazes, passed away at Baton Rouge General on Bluebonnet on Tuesday, December 12, 2023, at the age of 57 following a 2 1/2 year battle with cancer. He was a native and lifelong resident of Port Allen. Darryl was a quiet and humble man of integrity, but when he spoke his words were "as good as gold". He was a devoted husband and father. Darryl was well known from all the people he encountered in his 41 year career as a manager at Hubben's Supermarket. Visitation will be on Sunday, December 17th, at Wilbert Funeral Home in Port Allen, 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. and again at Holy Family Catholic Church on Monday, December 18th, 12:30 p.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 2:30 p.m., celebrated by Rev. Jerry Martin. Burial will follow in St. John the Baptist Catholic Church Cemetery in Brusly. Darryl is survived by his wife of 34 years, Shelia Morrow Cazes; two children, Katelyn Cazes David and Brandon, Tyler Cazes; four sisters, Jeanne Smith, Janet Cazes and partner Maryanne Harris, Pamela Taylor and husband Mark, Shari Giurintano and husband Mark, mother-in-law, JoAnn Morrow; and numerous nieces and nephews. Darryl was preceded in death by his parents, Llewellyn "Lew" and Melba LeBlanc Cazes; father-in-law, Sam Morrow; brother-in-law, Mike Smith; godchild, Blake Morrow. Pallbearers will be Logan, Matthew and Trevor Morrow, Steve Blanchard, Mark Giurintano, Mark Taylor, Derek Lewis and Shane Heuvel.
