DARRYL C. GARDNER

Darryl C. Gardner, age 83, of Rogersville, passed away, Wednesday, March 18, 2026, at Signature Healthcare of Rogersville, following a period of declining health. Darryl contracted with various aerospace corporations during his career as an electrical engineer including Boeing and McDonnell Douglas. He was also employed with Duke Power and retired shortly after his return to Tennessee while working at TVA. He was an active member of Hawkins County Genealogical & Historical Society. Darryl enjoyed collecting and "piddling" with Chevy Corvairs, which are rear-engined, air-cooled compact cars manufactured and marketed by Chevrolet over two generations from the 1960 through 1969 model years. He was preceded in death by his parents Theodore "Ted" and Rosa Cox Gardner.

Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Carolyn Smith Gardner, daughter Yvette Munsey and husband Eddie of Rogersville, granddaughters, Kayla and Elishia Harrell, great-grandson Jameson Bundren, brother-in-law and sister-in-law Eddie and Brenda Buchanan of Church Hill.

Graveside service will be 2:30 p.m, Sunday, March 22, 2026, at Highland Cemetery with Rev. Steve McKinney officiating. For those that wish to attend the graveside service please meet at the funeral home at 1:45 p.m.
