Darryl Nelson

Darryl E. Nelson, 59 years of age, passed Tuesday, April 23, 2024 at Westside Hospital. The late Darryl Eugene Nelson was born November 3, 1964 in Ft Lauderdale, FL to the late Charles and Geraldine Nelson. He was the youngest of five children, two preceded him in death. Darryl's education began in the Broward County Public
School System in Ft Lauderdale where he graduated from Plantation High School in 1982. He was a proud participant of Junior Achievement USA throughout the years. Darryl left Ft. Lauderdale to matriculate at the University of Florida in Gainesville, FL. And, soon afterwards he began his lifelong work in the insurance industry, receiving many achievement accolades along life's path.
Though Darryl had the privilege of living in many different cities throughout the country and traveling about, his favorite thing to do was reading. He really loved reading
books, spending time with family, laughing and oftentimes wearing a smile on his face. Also, he was a "foodie of sorts" as he loved food cultures as well as different foods, not only out of hunger but as a leisure pursuit. All in all, Darryl was a very private, fun loving, and caring person, never wanting to worry anyone about his wellbeing.
Darryl gave his heart to the Lord and was water baptized at the tender age of ten. He so loved the Lord that he faithfully attended worship services with his family and/or friends every Sunday morning, no matter where he lived. Likewise, he unreservedly believed in the power of prayer as his first word to you upon entering his hospital room was "PRAY!"
