Darryl N. Pedersen

Darryl Neils Pedersen was born on December 31, 1941 in Detroit, Michigan. His parents were Edward Khristian and Emma Elizabeth (nee Walker) Pedersen and they were of English and Danish descent. He died on Sunday, April 7, 2013 at his family's home in Troy, Michigan. He was 71 years of age. Darryl was a resident of Auburn Hills, MI and a former resident of Alexandria, VA. He graduated in 1960 from Berkley High School where he was President of his senior class and a member of the track team. He would later graduate from Wayne State University and serve in the Peace Corps in El Salvador. He taught Peace Corps volunteers at State University of New York at Brockport. He was a Regional Director of Family Planning International in Central and South America. He was a longtime International Consultant for economic development. He would eventually retire from the Development Group, a company that he had owned and operated. His hobbies included reading, travel and he was proud to be a computer "geek". Beloved son of the late Emma and Edward. Dear brother of Edward K. Pedersen (Carol) and Kenneth D. Pedersen (Doris). Uncle of Pamela, Jonathan, Edward, Eileen, Christina and Carrie. Also survived by many great nieces and nephews. His family appreciates the loving care of many relatives, Beaumont Hospice and Helping Hands. Memorial Service Saturday 1:30p.m. at A.J. Desmond & Sons (Vasu, Rodgers & Connell Chapel), 32515 Woodward Avenue, Royal Oak, MI Memorial tributes to the American Cancer Society.
