Darryl E. Williams, 57, of Independence, Missouri passed away Monday February 7, 2022. Darryl was born August 24, 1964 to Albert Eugene Williams "Gene" and Joyce Ann Williams. Throughout childhood, Darryl was raised by Gene and Brenda Williams after the passing of his mother, Joyce. He attended William Chrisman High School where he graduated in 1982. After high school he moved to Blue Springs where he raised his two sons, Ryan and Tyler, from his previous marriage. In 2002 Darryl married his wife, Chalene, and together they welcomed a daughter, Johanna.
Darryl was a man of many trades working in construction for most of his life. Over the last decade he built commercial swimming pools, where he took on the role of "road dad" to his coworkers and friends. He was an avid woodworker, hunter and all around outdoorsman. Darryl was loved by everyone he met and didn't know a stranger. People would often refer to him as selfless, loving and personable while still being an ornery and stubborn man.
Darryl is survived by his wife, Chalene Williams; children, Ryan (Casey) Williams, Tyler Williams, Johanna Williams and Reagan Williams; step-mother Brenda Williams; siblings, Kimberly (Jimmy) Peterson, Sonya McManus, Andrea (Mark) Porter; granddaughters, Rylee, Kaylee and Skyler Williams and grandson, Weston Williams, as well as many other extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joyce and Gene Williams; maternal grandparents; and paternal grandparents.
A funeral in remembrance of Darryl will be held at Country Meadows Baptist Church, 4901 Lees Summit Rd, Kansas City MO, 64136 on February 19, 2022. Visitation will begin at 1:30 with a memorial service immediately following.
