Darson Wayne Maywald was born on January 23, 1943 in Fort Worth, Texas. He went home to be with the Lord on September 3, 2024 following a lengthy period of illness.
A visitation is scheduled for Sunday, September 8, 2024 from 2-4 p.m. at Mount Olivet Chapel. A graveside service is scheduled for Monday, September 9, 2024 at 11 a.m. in the Mount Olivet Cemetery. Both services will be located at the address 2301 North Sylvania Avenue, Fort Worth, Texas 76111.
Darson was self-employed most of his life in grounds keeping and landscaping services. He enjoyed working on cars and keeping his lawn equipment running. He was the brother that was always willing to help out with the needs of those who needed it. His oldest brother always called him "Doc" and got him to help with mechanical problems that he couldn't resolve. He often babysat his nieces and nephews, especially his little buddy Jacob.
Darson was always involved in his church. He attended Riverside Evangelistic Temple for over 60 years, where he helped with whatever needed to be done. He was a member of Richland Hills Baptist Church for the last ten years. He loved his God and his church and attended faithfully.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Martha Maywald; his brothers, Henry Don, Donald and his wife, Jan, and Doran Gene. He is survived by his sister, Donna Maywald; his brother, Danny Maywald and his wife, Janet; his sister-in-law, Barbara Maywald; and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews.
