Darwin P. Shawver, Sr., 75, of McClure, passed away on Wednesday, October 8, 2025, at Geisinger–Lewistown Hospital. Born on March 23, 1950, in Lewistown, he was the son of the late Jay S. and Hazel I. (Erb) Shawver. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Terry Shawver. Darwin is survived by his devoted wife of 55 years, Shirley (Romig) Shawver, whom he married on June 6, 1970; his son, Darwin Shawver, Jr., of Burnham; his daughter, Christine Stuck and her husband, Kevin, of Lewistown; four grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; a brother, Richard Shawver and his wife, Diana, of Beavertown; and a sister, Jaylene Sunderland, of Lewistown. Darwin spent more than four decades employed at Standard Steel in Burnham. Outside of work, he found great joy in the outdoors-especially in hunting and fishing. In accordance with his wishes, there will be no services. Arrangements have been entrusted to King-Barr Funeral Home, 120 Logan Street, Lewistown. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 6704, Hagerstown, MD 21741. Online condolences may be shared at www.kingbarrfuneralhome.com
