he was my music teacher throughout kindergarten through 4th. i wish he could see how much i´ve grown and improved. it feels like a part of me has been taken away from me. he was like a second father to me and every teacher knew our bond. ms o´reil hugged me very tight. i sat in the cafeteria with many kids who were mourning aswell. i wish i could tell him that i cared about him for one last time. i would wanna hear his voice and "LOPEZZ COME HERE" one last time. every time i made him laugh it was a specific sound i would hear over and over. when he passed my whole life changed and i still have a picture of him in my wall.

Mr. Drower was my music teacher 2015-2018. He was an amazing educator and made a lasting impression. He was a spark for every music-loving student. I didn´t appreciate him enough when I was his student. I´m a senior in high school now and always hoped that he would see me graduate and that I would be able to tell him that I made it.
The picture is him with my now boyfriend who was also a classmate with me at the time. We both loved and missed this teacher dearly. We were devastated to find that we´d never hear his loud, booming voice and his equally booming saxophone again. He was an inspiration taken too soon. Whenever we reminisce on elementary school, there isn´t a time where we don´t think of him.

I had the honor & privilege of working with Dave during his time as the music teacher at McKinley Elementary in Bellwood, IL. It is in reading his obituary that I'm learning that time was likely the beginning of his teaching career. You wouldn't have known. His wisdom, skills, and talent were well beyond his years! He indeed was a gem and will be missed.
Praying for all that loved & knew him.

I hired Mr. Drower to be our music teacher at McKinley Elementary School; District 88 Bellwood, Illinois. Our students loved to participate in his music classes! He was extremely relatable to our students, staff and the community! As a drummer who had a band, he has in on few jam sessions! We will miss you badly! Rest in peace Mr. Drower!

I first met Dave when he came out to audition for my band some years ago, but I don't think we were good enough for him! :) I later saw him and said hello when TSHSB were playing Galvans Public House in the summer of '22. He displayed his usual cool, smokin' hot sax playing that night. May God richly bless all his friends and family with peace at this difficult time. - ME

My favorite memory of Dave is how much fun he had on his classes. I always looked foward to going there. The student love him very much at the school. I worked with him for two years at Hyde Park Elementary School, and thanks to him I was able to get my license to stay working permanently with the school district. He help me a lot by giving tips on how to help the student I work for. He will be greatly miss. May God have him by his side and bless his souls. Rest in heaven Dave.

I only knew Dave for 3 months and working with him was an honor. The impact I saw him make with these kids was so big. Everyday he would walk down our hallway around 2:55 and my kids would wait for him to come scare them. They would wait for him to come outside at recess and they would love to mess with him. Seeing him with these kids melted my heart. It was such a pleasure to be able to work with Dave and get to know him even if it was for only a short time. My prayers go out to his family and friends during this hard time.

So sorry for your loss Rebecca and family. I didn't know it at the time but I saw him and the band play earlier this year. It was a great show and I remember him wailing on the sax. My deepest condolences.

David student taught with me February through May 2009 at Thomas Middle School in Arlington Heights. He was very good. Up there with the best student teachers I have had. He challenged me as much as I challenged him. He was very confident. He really liked the kids. He would practice his saxophone at lunch. I am so sorry for this loss. I know Dave will be remembered fondly by everyone who knew him.

We are so very sorry to hear about Dave´s passing. We remember hearing him play his saxophone through the windows from your house to ours. He always loved music since he was a child. I´m sure you will miss him greatly.

Dave was one of the most inspirational and wise individual I was ever friends with.
Hands down he was a EXPERT on working on his Honda Cbr1000
But he was also so friendly and wanted to help as much as possible.
He put more hours in on my bike than me.
I worked with Dave at Ups for 3 years graveyard shift from like 1am-9am
And I worked directly next to him.
We had some of the funniest conversations at 3am
Plus he is a super motivating and positive person in and out.
He has such a good heart
He would do anything for anyone if he could.
Dave I really miss you bro.
I wish we could have got tacos from (Taqueria Amigo Chino) one more time with an ice cold Arizona.
Love you Dave

Dave was more than a great music teacher, he was part of the fabric at Hyde Park. He was great to work with, I enjoyed the years our classrooms were next to each other. I loved the music and listening to the kids sing loud and proud. He brought out the best in his students, and made the kids feel like they belonged.

Dave and I were from the brotherhood of VanderCook, Music, and motorcycles. I met him through WPS60 Professional development music teachers and Wednesday meetings. I contracted him to play in our band and will forever remember him as a wonderful musical talent. Godspeed, Dave, you will live on in my heart forever.
