Rabbi Abrahams was a wonderful spiritual leader for our family. His love of his faith and desire to share it with others created a warm and welcoming congregation. He will always be remembered for his kindness and compassion.

I first met Rabbi David Abrahams when I attended Shabbat services at Etz Chaim, and he later served on my Beit Din when I formally converted to Judaism. When I apologized to Rabbi David for making him drive all the way to Geneva for my Beit Din, he insisted that it was his absolute pleasure and delight to help perform such a Mitzvah. May his memory always be for a blessing.

My family and I welcomed Rabbi David Abrahams to our Congregation Etz Chaim where he was our spiritual leader for some 25 years. He performed the Bar Mitzvah ceremonies for our three boys, and was very much loved in our community. Such a brilliant mind and wealth of knowledge about the Jewish faith. He will surely be missed and hard to replace.

Abie, so sorry you left us far too soon. Now you belong to greater angels. As a rabbi, and community leader, your commitment to tzedakah, t'shuva and tikkun olam enriched a problematic world. In your honor, I promise to be an even better version of myself moving forward. Rest in peace, Abie.

We are so sorry to hear about Abi's passing. He was such a kind and loving soul. We enjoyed the times he visited us at Temple Shalom in Sterling, IL. My husband, Joel has know Abi for a long time. Abi taught Joel in preparation of his Bar Mitzvah in 1981. We send condolences to his family.
