David Alvarez Obituary
David, from New Haven Connecticut where he graduated from Southern Connecticut State University, was for many years the editor in chief of the Connecticut Artists Magazine and a free/lance writer whose fiction, nonfiction, and essays appeared in various publications throughout New England. He is the author of two published novels, The Mayan and Rebel Blood, a Novel of Jesse James.
He resided in Punta Gorda, Florida with his wife Bertie, where he played as a musician and retired from Sarasota County's North Port High School as a history teacher. He was a bass player with The Boogiemen for 35 years in Charlotte County. He has played 172 Charity Events for our Veterans, Children and Non-Profits with The BoogieMen.
He is survived by his wife, Bertie Alvarez, his two children Erika Planer and Alex Alvarez, and a sister, Maggie Clement. He has four, soon to be five beautiful grandchildren whom he adored.
