David Anderson Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Aug. 8, 2024.
David Anderson passed away peacefully on August 8, 2024, at the age of 72. His partner in life, Dan Faller of 50 years, who he deeply loved with all his heart, was by his side.

Dave dearly loved his little sister, Carol Anderson, his closest friends, and his dogs who will forever have a special place in his heart. He fiercely believed in and protected those he loved.

Dave was born on June 5, 1952, in Spokane, WA, to C Wm (Bill) and Frances Anderson. Dave graduated from Ferris High School, and went to EWU. He started in the grocery business at a neighborhood grocery store as a stocker and box boy while in Jr High. He started climbing the ladder in the business quickly, and settled into the industry. He retired after 45 years in management at Rosauers. Dave loved his work, developed many friendships over his stellar career and maintained many of those after retirement.

Dave loved living on the South Hill in Spokane his entire life, with only four years away at his first home at Liberty Lake. He loved the water and growing up at Loon Lake. Dave & Dan enjoyed their seasonal home at Deer Lake for Ten Years, and they had deep pride in and loved every minute at their seasonal home at Coeur d'Alene of 35 years.

The four seasons brought joy to Dave with all each had to offer, especially water and snow skiing, his boats, classic and new cars (especially tinkering with them and driving fast), motorcycles and snowmobiles, and ice-skating at Loon and Liberty Lakes. Oh, how he loved the holidays. Every one of them was so special to him and brought him such joy and wonderful memories.

He enjoyed making mischief and practical jokes. He lived life to the fullest, and fought such a hard fight with courage and determination up to the end. He gave it his all, every time.

Dave was a beautiful, sweet, kind, generous, compassionate, gracious, humble soul, with a smile that would light up the world, contagious laugh and a fabulous sense of humor that he carried to the end.

Dave will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Thank you to the Doctors, Nurses and care team at the Pulse Heart Institute, Pulmonary and Renal teams at Deaconess for the exceptional care they provided to Dave.

With summertime are memories of Loon Lake and boating and swimming there with Dave. Diving down on sunken hulls and just enjoying the water. And the big red convertible he drove down one day with Chris and maybe my sister Jane? Ironically, he was pulled over by a state patrolman for resisting the temptation to speed on such a beautiful, sunny day, He just wanted to tell Dave that he appreciated his restrained driving.
Rest in peace, Dave. You are remembered and loved by your family and friends. Signed, Cousin Ace

I had the pleasure of working many years with Dave. Dave was a great produce manager, he worked hard and was liked by all. I had many fun times at his lake place in Coeur D Alene, he and Dan loved to entertain. It was always "work hard and play harder!" My condolences to Dan and to Dave's family.

My cousin Dave was always so kind to me. Whenever I came to Spokane, Dave was eager to generously share his time, his Coeur D'Alene playground, and lots of laughs--especially as we remembered our aunts and uncles.
Like his father, Dave welcoming and gracious--he could always make you feel like you belonged. He made me feel loved with that kind of generous acceptance that is known by the best sense of the word "kin."
I thank God for every minute I had with him.
Blessings to Dan and the whole family.
