David James Anderson, 79, passed away peacefully in his home on Wednesday, January 21, 2026, with his loving family by his side. Funeral Services will be held on Sunday, February 1, 2026, at Christ's Sanctified Holy Church in Perry, Georgia. Visitation will be held in the Chapel from 11:00 a.m. until 12 Noon. David was born in Macon, Georgia, to the late Earl and Elizabeth Hill Anderson. He graduated from Willingham High School in Macon in 1964. He then moved to Atlanta where he joined the Atlanta Fire Department. While working long and laborious hours, David raised a family of four sons, played guitar and sang with a southern gospel band, and left an indelible legacy of integrity, care, and love of God with all who came into contact with him. He was a member of Christ's Sanctified Holy Church.

David Anderson was preceded in death by his older brother, Walter Raymond Anderson. He leaves behind his beloved and devoted wife of fifty-one years, Linda Faye Hicks Anderson, sons, Bonner Pittman, Jr (Kim) of Lincolnton, NC, David James "Jamie" Anderson Jr (Melania) of Forsyth, GA, Gerald "Jerry" Anderson of Hephzibah, GA, and Stephen Anderson (Anna) of Benton, TN; eleven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two sisters, Joan Denton (Dan) of Macon, GA, and Judy Obitko of Byron, GA; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and cousins.
