David "Dave" Arnaud Sr.

On Thursday, October 10, 2024, David "Dave" Arnaud Sr., age 79, a life long resident of Slidell, LA passed away due to complications of Heart failure. He was member of the International Union of Operating Engineers, Local 406, as a heavy equipment operator. He loved to travel with his beloved wife Carol, with whom he has been in love with for over 63 years. He was an expert gardener. He loved hunting and fishing in the Pearl River and Honey Island Swamp. He could often be seen fishing from his chair at the boat launch in Heritage Park. He was loved by all who met him there and he always had a smile on his face. He would ask total strangers to help him bait his hook. He loved the people he met at Heritage Park. He was the youngest child of Desbre and Hilda Arnaud of Opelousas, LA. He was predeceased by his brother and sisters. Margret Stelly, Joy Arnaud, and Edward Arnaud. He is survived by his loving wife, Carol Marchand Arnaud, his children, Cherie A. Maser(James), Sharon A Stokes,(Kevin), and David Arnaud II (Kim), his grandchildren, John Arnaud, Robert Arnaud, Angelica Maser, Lindsey Stokes, Hallie Stokes, Nicole A Walters, and Hannah Arnaud, and his great grandchild Ruby Roberts. The funeral service will be held at Williams Funeral Home, 67525 Hwy 41 Pearl River LA 70452 (985)863-5733. Saturday, October 19, 2024. visitation at 11:00am, service at 2:30 in the chapel, with the burial immediately following. Rev. Kevin T. DeLerno of Sts. Peter and Paul Parish, will be officiating.
