David Richard Barnhouse, of North Wales and formerly of Sellersville and Lansdale, PA, passed away Thursday, February 5, 2026. He was 80.

He was the loving husband of the late Gloria J. (Fetterhoff) Barnhouse until her passing on February 13, 2016.

Born in Findlay, OH, he was the son of the late Robert and Harriet (Motes) Barnhouse. Following his high school graduation, he earned his associate's degree in electronics.

He was a proud U. S. Army Veteran of the Vietnam War, serving stateside from 1966 to 1968.

Throughout his professional career working as a computer engineer, Mr. Barnhouse was employed by IBM, Bell Atlantic and Verizon.

He was Catholic in faith.

Mr. Barnhouse enjoyed solving puzzles and assembling model cars as well as reading and watching Science Fiction, especially Star Trek, in his free time.

He was a devoted father and grandfather to his daughter, Tamara A. Smith, of Souderton, PA; five grandchildren, Katie Gallen and her husband Todd, Kevin Winfree, Christopher Winfree, Aurelia Grace Smith and Autumn Joy Smith; and two great-grandchildren, Oliver and Darcey Gallen. He is also survived by a brother, James Barnhouse, of Akron, OH; and two sisters, Patricia "Patty" Barnhouse, of Akron, OH, and Barbara Stephens, of Columbus, OH.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Barnhouse, and a sister, in childhood, April Barnhouse.

His Graveside Services with Funeral Honors will be held at 2:30 PM on Friday, March 27, 2026, at Washington Crossing National Cemetery, 830 Highland Road, Newtown, PA.

Arrangements are by the Suess-Gahman Funeral Home & Crematory, 606 Arch Street, Perkasie, PA.
