David Jerome Benson

David Jerome Benson of La Plata New Mexico passed away peacefully on March 2, 2026

 David was born in San Juan County to Precious Z Robinson and Leroy C Benson. David went to Farmington schools. David was married to Amanda Deal. David was multitalented as he worked in the oilfield , for an erecting company, a tire hand, and most recently worked for Aaron's.

 David was a car man. He loved his cars and the bass and he also loved washing and detailing them. David also enjoyed making everyone else's cars look nice. He loved being outside listening to music, singing karaoke with his kids, hanging out with his homies and his family. David was a storyteller who made everyone laugh and smile. He loved attention and he loved family functions. He was an extrovert. David will be remembered because of the person he was. He never wanted to leave the party. 

 He is survived by his wife, Amanda, son Tyrell Garcia, daughters Divinity and Doriah Benson, granddaughter Nevaeh Garcia, grandson, Tyrell Garcia, godson's, Amari Acosta and Atticus Gonzales, sisters Diane McCants, Lisa Acosta, Kathleen Robinson, Shirley Benson, Rena Benson. Brother Charles Robinson, Roy Benson.

 He has proceeded in death by his mother, Precious Robinson, father Leroy Benson, sister Rosie Benson, brothers James Phillips, Alton Robinson, Larry Benson, Walter Benson, Leroy Junior Benson, Lee Benson.

 Service will be held Monday, March 9 at 10am at Ideal Baptist Church with a reception to follow at the Civic Center.
