Beloved and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother passed away peacefully on Monday, August 4, 2025, at Covenant Skilled Nursing and Rehab. Age 87 years. The son of the late Sigurd and Eva Marjorie (Roys) Bergland, David was born March 8, 1938, in Richmond, Indiana. On August 25, 1963, he married the love of his life, Mary Jo Barnes, and together they shared 61 wonderful years of marriage. She predeceased him February 13, 2025. At the age of 38 years old, Dave started his own business, Dave's Farm Equipment in Osseo, Michigan. He worked tirelessly for 32 years and was known for his honesty and integrity. After retiring in 2008, but still having a passion for the business, Dave sold toy tractors at farm toy shows. Dave was a very faithful Detroit Tiger's fan. Dave was an usher at Hudson United Methodist Church. After moving to Saginaw, they joined Grace Baptist Church where he found strength in his faith and community.

Surviving to cherish his memory are two daughters, Beth (Mike) Beauchamp, Davison; Cindy (Mike) Olson, Millington; four grandchildren, Melissa (Danny) Thwing, Brian Beauchamp, Zachary Olson and Jack Olson; three great-grandchildren, Eloise, Leo and JJ; one brother and two sisters, James Bergland, Joan Foster, Jean (William) Howard; many nieces and nephews. David was preceded in death by his sister-in-law, Sharron Bergland.

Funeral Service will take place 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 12, 2025 at Grace Baptist Church, 4619 Mackinaw Rd., Saginaw, Michigan. Pastor Tim Miller will officiate. Private interment will take place in Floral Gardens Cemetery in Bay City. Friends may visit at the church where the family will be present on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service.
