David Edgar Bowser

David Edgar Bowser, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully in his sleep at home in St George Utah on Thursday, December 11, 2025, at the age of 93.

Born on April 6, 1932, in Pocatello, Idaho, to Mary Anna Sarah and Green Lossen Bowser, David grew up on a dairy farm where he developed a love for the outdoors and a strong work ethic. His childhood was filled with adventure, music, and family.

David attended school in Pocatello and Blackfoot, excelling in athletics. After graduating high school, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. His service was marked by courage and resilience, surviving a plane accident on an aircraft carrier and spending ten days behind enemy lines before being rescued.

After his military service, David attended Idaho State University and Utah State University, earning dual degrees in Electrical Engineering and Nuclear Engineering. He married the love of his life, Patsy Ann Bentley, on August 19, 1955.

David’s career in nuclear and electrical engineering took him and his family across the country, living in several states. Among his many professional achievements, he was most proud of serving as Project Manager for installing electricity along the Alaska Pipeline.

Beyond his career, David was an Eagle Scout and dedicated many years to the Boy Scouts as a commissioner, mentoring young men and sharing his love for the outdoors. He was known for his generosity.

In retirement, David and Pat moved to Orofino, Idaho, where he designed and built their home with the help of family. He continued to serve his community as a member of the local search and rescue team and as Treasurer. In 2017, David and Pat moved to Tetonia, Idaho and in 2022, they relocated to St. George, Utah, where David enjoyed the dry heat and sunshine.

David is survived by his loving wife, Patsy (Pat); children Kirby Lee (Mary), Kristen Denise (Daric Schweikart), Kendall David (Ronda), Kory Wayne (LeAnn), Dale Scott (Cheryl), Maxine Hartman Maloney (Michael), Scott Hartman, and Les Wright (Debbie); and 30 grandchildren and 33 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, son Kole Bowser and brothers Art Henry, Lee Henry, Russell Henry, and Lionel Bowser.

David’s legacy is one of service, love, and adventure. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
