DAVID BRAY
May 24, 1955 ˜ October 15, 2023

David Douglas Bray passed away peacefully at his home on Oct. 15, 2023, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born to Charles and June Bray on May 24, 1955, in Vancouver, WA. David was the youngest of their six children. David graduated from Fort Vancouver High School in 1974. He married Debra Lynn Stetcher on June 21, 1986, and they welcomed their son, Ian, into their family in 1988. David and Debbi loved being parents to their son, Ian. Sadly, Debbi passed away in 2003, after losing her battle to cancer. David started working for the Vancouver School District in 1978 and retired in 2008. David met Linda Crawford in a grief support group at New Heights Church in 2006. David and Linda enjoyed traveling and spending quality time together. David was a supportive and a wonderful grandfather. He enjoyed cheering the kids on at their sporting events and watching them pursue their dreams. David returned to Concordia University in Portland, OR, in 2010 to finish his degree in social work. He graduated in 2013 with Bachelor of Science in social work. He went on to work as a mental health specialist at Telecare Corporation, but eventually had to quit due to health issues. David was an avid sports fan_especially the Seattle Seahawks. He enjoyed hunting, camping and traveling with Linda. Maui was one of their favorite places to visit. David loved the Lord and knew he would meet Jesus in heaven. David looked forward to a grand reunion with those who went before him. David was preceded in death by his wife, Debbi; his parents; his brothers, Bill and Lorren; and brother-in-law, Mike, and Aunt Lonie. He is survived by his son, Ian (Bua); Linda and her children, Cory (Jeff), Darcy (Ryan), Mark (Tricia), Paul (Rebekah), and Jake (Michela); their 11 grandchildren; sister, Loretta McCutcheon; sisters-in-law, Teresa Berry and Judy Bray; brothers, Lynn (Jan) and Larry (Deborah); and many nieces and nephews.

First I want to send my condolences to Ian and all the Bray family and to the Crawford family....I meet David about 35 years ago and we seemed to hit it off right away....Someone said that people have lots of friends in life BUT not a lot of people have best friends... Well I must have been lucky, cause I had two, one was my collage room mate, and the other was David...These two I called FOREVER BEST FRIENDS...With these types of friend you could talk to them about anything and they would have your back just like they knew that you had theirs....David you were the best,,,,Will miss those trips to the coffee shops, but did not do it much after Covid...I will really miss the talks on the phone and all those texts up till the last few days...You my friend never gave up and always thought so positive.....YOU DID A GREAT JOB....I know I will see you again when its my turn to go... Miss you buddy -------ME
