David Britt Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Day Macz Funeral Home - Patoka on Dec. 9, 2025.
David Britt, 83, of Patoka passed away peacefully, Sunday, December 7, 2025, at his home. He was born on May 13, 1942, in Vandalia, the son of Raymond O. and Doris Mae (Good) Britt. He married Barbara Jones on June 20, 1964, in Patoka and she preceded him in death on June 6, 1999. He married Cathy Dodd on July 1, 2000, and she survives him.

Along with his wife Cathy Britt of Patoka, survivors that will remember David's strength of character and resilience include his son, Steven Britt, wife Kristi of Patoka; daughter, Julie Bryant, husband Daniel (DH) of Irvington; grandchildren, Noah Bryant, Evan Bryant, Austin Britt, Tristan Britt, Samuel Britt, wife Hannah and Elizabeth Britt; great-grandchildren, Tatum Jo Britt, and one on the way, Stevie Kay Britt.

Along with his wife, Barbara Britt, David was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Karole Jackson.

David was a member of the Patoka Christian Church. He worked as a farmer, grateful for his years spent caring for his farm ground and proud of the legacy of farming he passed down to his family. He was an avid history buff, who could amaze others with his vast knowledge of historic events. David enjoyed living in the country and looked forward to hunting season. He liked to travel, especially to the sights and sounds of Branson, Missouri. David was strong and steady, firm in his faith and ever appreciative of his family.

A graveside service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, December 10, 2025, at Harrison Cemetery in rural Patoka. Memorials may be made in David's honor to Central Christian School of the Bible and will be accepted for the family at the Day Macz Funeral Home in Patoka. Online condolences and memories of David may be shared with his family by visiting maczfuneralhomes.com and/or on the funeral home's Facebook page.
