David Brogdon Obituary

David L. Brogdon
Jacksonville -
David L. Brogdon, 81, of Jacksonville passed away Sunday, February 4, 2024 at Springfield Memorial Hospital. He was born March 27, 1942 in Murrayville the son of Everett and Hazel Cain Brogdon. He married Nigle Mason in 1964 at Youngblood Baptist Church in Nortonville and she survives.
He is also survived by his children, Rick (Rhonda) Brogdon of Chino, CA, Debbie Bigham of Jacksonville, Gail Fraley of Carrollton, Terri (Gene) Meier of Bluffs; 13 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; two brothers, Larry (Phyllis) Brogdon of Murrayville and Dan (Gail) Brogdon of North Carolina and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son, Scott Brogdon; son-in-law, David Fraley and sister, Pamela Camp.
David was a General Contractor in the area for many years. He was a member of Youngblood Baptist Church in Nortonville. He loved to travel with his wife and riding his motorcycle and side by side.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 8, 2024 at Williamson Funeral Home in Jacksonville with burial at Youngblood Cemetery in Nortonville. The family will meet friends from 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to Emmanuel Baptist Church in Roodhouse, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or Shriners Hospitals for Children. Condolences may be left online at www.airsman-hires.com.
