David L. Brown, Sr., 88, of Rossville, Georgia, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on

Thursday, November 13, 2025. He was a lifelong member of South Rossville Baptist Church. David started attending South Rossville Baptist 86 years ago at the age of 2. He served as a Deacon, Sunday School Director and at times was an interim Choir Director. David loved the Lord and his family deeply. He retired from Combustion Engineering after 35 years. David was honorably discharged from the United States Marine Corps as a Lance Corporal.

In his earlier days, he enjoyed fishing and even went on several deep-sea fishing trips with his friends and family. Throughout the years, he also enjoyed gardening and woodworking. More importantly, he enjoyed spending quality time with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren out in his front yard playing ball.

Loved ones who welcomed him to his Heavenly home are his parents, Carroll and Gladys Brown; brother and sister-in-law, William (Bill) and JoAnn Brown.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 69 years, Sara Crush Brown; sons, David (Vickie) Brown, Eddie (Patty) Brown; grandsons, Stephen (Amber) Brown, Daniel (Tricia) Brown; great grandchildren, Elijah Brown, Maddie Brown, Sutton Brown, Willa Brown; brother Donny (Polly) Brown; sister, Lynda (David) Matthews; bonus grandchildren, Scott (Denise) McNair, Tammy Hartline, Jake (Ginger) Land, several bonus great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral services are scheduled at the Chapel of W.L. Wilson & Sons Funeral Home, 555 West Cloud Springs Road, Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia on Monday, November 17, 2025, 3 p.m. with Reverend Eddy Rushing and Reverend Joe Callahan officiating. Interment will follow at Tennessee Georgia Memorial Park, 724 Hogan Road, Rossville, Georgia. Pallbearers will be Daniel Brown, Stephen Brown, Elijah Brown, Mike Brown, Scott Crush, Jeff Lamb, Jake Land, and Todd Shrader. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, November 16, 2025 from 2-5 p.m. and also prior to the service on Monday, November 17, 2025 from 2-3 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to South Rossville Baptist Church, 101 East Peachtree Street, Rossville, Georgia 30741.
