David Brownlee Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Minnis Chapel - Stafford on Sep. 16, 2025.
David Lyle Brownlee, 70, beloved son, brother, uncle, cousin and friend died on September 14, 2025. David was the son of Mary Jo and Don Brownlee who preceded him in death.

David had many fond memories of his childhood on the Kansas farm and survived many adventures with his older brother, Bandy. David loved history and as an artist meticulously recreated Medieval chain mail replicas. He loved nature and taking walks around the old homestead to view wildflowers. David worked as a CNA at the Stafford Hospital until his retirement and provided loving care to both his parents in their later years. He was a man of deep faith and served as an elder at the Zenith Presbyterian Church.

Those left to cherish his memory are his brother, Bandy Brownlee and sister-in-law, Jan; his niece, Addie Brownlee and her husband, Travis Hardin; great nephews and nieces, and cousins by the dozens.

The family is grateful for all the compassionate care shown to David by his doctors, nurses, and staff at the Stafford Hospital, Pratt Cancer Center, the Stafford Community and the Zenith Presbyterian Church. The family especially thanks Vangie Wendelburg, Virginia Elliot, Bob and Debra Ann Minks for their constant prayers and dedication to David's loving care.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, September 18 at Minnis Chapel, Stafford. Friends can sign the family book Wednesday 1-6 p.m. The casket will remain closed. In lieu of flowers, donations for David's memory may be made to the Zenith Presbyterian Church or Stafford County Hospital in care of the funeral home.
