William "David" Buchanan, 82, of Levelland, Texas passed from this life on August 29, 2025. Born on January 31, 1943 to his parents, William Albert Buchanan and Mattie Evelyn Lamb Buchanan in Sydney, Montana, David spent his childhood growing up in Deming, New Mexico.
David married his loving wife Marilyn Elaine Lovinggood on May 26, 1967 in Guymon, Oklahoma. David worked at General Telephone Co., Amoco, owned The Fireplace in Ruidoso, NM, and as Hospital Maintenance at a hospital in Portales, NM. He loved playing golf, refurbishing equipment, and hunting. David never met a stranger, and he loved spending time with family and friends, playing ornery jokes on them, and making people smile.
He is preceded in death by his parents William Buchanan and Mattie Buchanan.
Those left to honor and cherish his memory include his wife of many years, Marilyn Buchanan; siblings, Jeanie Hill of Georgia, Michael Buchanan of New Mexico, Richard Buchanan of Georgia; daughters, Pam Alexander of Levelland, Amy Bennett of Nebraska; grandchildren, McKaile Geisler, Kain Alexander, Bryley Bates, Tess Bates, Konner Alexander; great-grandchildren, Blake Geisler, Karter Geisler, Marlee Geisler, Jordy Alexander, Brynn alexander, and one more on the way.
There will be no services at this time.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to The National Kidney Foundation or a charity of your choice.
The family would also like to express their gratitude to Calvert Home Health and Hospice, and Cornerstone caregiving and Kidney Care Center of Lubbock.
