Chief David Wesley Byrd

WOW!!!
I just now found out about David's passing. I'm stunned. David was 'one of a kind.' I first met him sometime in the early 1980's as an instructor for the SC State Constables. We became fast friends, as he was to so many. He knew his stuff! Everybody loved David. He was, to me, and so many others... a real entertainer. We kept up with each other for many years. God Bless the SOUL and Family of David Byrd. RIP.

David was a fine Chief of Police in Irmo. He ran a small office. But, dealt successfully with all the problems of a small town growing up. Back then, IRMO was more like Mayberry, NC. Than, what it is today. I'm sad he has gone at such a young age. RIP DAVID
