David Carpenter Obituary

DAVID A. CARPENTER

David A. Carpenter, age 68, of Rogersville, passed away Thursday, January 15, 2026, at Ballad Health Johnson City Medical Center following a period of declining health. David was a member of East Rogersville Baptist Church. He was employed with Kingsport Press for over 40 years and retired from Sam Dong. David was preceded in death by his parents, J.M. and Jacqueline Pearson Carpenter and brothers-in-law, Randy Carver and Jimmy "Jap" Hamblen.

Survivors include sisters, Rhonda Carver of Rogersville, Anita Hamblen of Surgoinsville, niece and nephew, Stephanie Hamblen (fiance Shawn Bailey) and Ryan Lewis (fiance Chuck Burchfield), great-nieces and great-nephews, Emilee Swatzell, Kianna Pintze, Cayden Self, and special fur baby Sam.

Family will receive friends 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., Saturday, January 17, 2026, in the chapel of Broome Funeral Home.

Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, January 17, 2026, in the chapel with Rev. Charlie Gibson officiating.

Interment will follow in New Life Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery.
