David John Carr

David John Carr was born on 2/10/1960. He was raised by his parents Mary Alice (Sammy) Carr and John Carr. He is survived by his wife Lorraine Carr, sons Joshua and Nathaniel Carr, Sister Karen Carr, Brother In-Law Russell Potter, nephews Brendan and Noah Carr-Potter, Joseph Link, niece Caeli Carr-Potter and the children's beloved Grammy Maggie Carr.

David graduated from The Evergreen State College with a BA in August of 1984. He received his Master of Arts from Antioch New England Graduate School in November of 1994. David worked at Vision Quest in Philadelphia helping adjudicated youth. He drove a taxi in the streets of Philadelphia and then went on to be a purveyor of fine food doing home deliveries. After receiving his Master of Arts, he became a realtor and did so for over 20 years.

David loved camping, hiking and fishing with his sons and was a Boy Scout Leader for their troop. He helped coach their Little League team in West Haven. David was an excellent dart player earning many trophies. He cared deeply about horseshoe crabs and would walk the beach and turn them over if he found them on their backs. He also loved listening to live music – The Grateful Dead were a favorite – and he attended the Grey Fox Bluegrass Music Festival, Rhythm and Roots music festival and many others over the years. He is also survived by a great many good friends whom he cared about deeply.
