David Carranza

José David Carranza, age 90, of Sunland Park, New Mexico, entered eternal rest on January 21, 2026, at his home. He was born on May 3, 1935, in Santa Lucia, Coahuila, Mexico to parents, Miguel Carranza and Ruperta Rojas.

David was preceded in death by his beloved wife Nora; his parents; his eldest son, David; and other cherished family members.

He is survived by brothers, Arcadio Carranza and Reynaldo Carranza; children: Rosa Irma Ruiz (Cristobal), Virginia "Gina" Salazar (Sabino), Eloy Carranza Sr. (Martha), Agatha "Aggie" Montoya (Ray), and Marylou Aguilar; 16 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.

David was a devoted family man and a pillar of his community. Known for his strength and tireless work ethic, he was a self-taught landscaper and business owner who worked diligently to provide for his family. Through his work, he extended opportunities to many. With his own hands, he built his home, which stood as a symbol of his dedication and became a place of welcome for those in need.

Through a lifetime of hard work, resilience, and devotion to his family, David leaves behind a legacy that will be remembered and carried on by all who knew and loved him.
