David was a real light to be around. So sad he went too soon.

I didn't know David but did meet him and his son in the hospital waiting room. You both seemed so strong in the face of terminal illness. Just wanted to let the family know that you are in my prayers. God bless!

One of my "drummer" friends at Campus and Friends University. Our politics were different but we had a huge mutual respect for one another. He was actually a giant musical talent that was never fully realized. David was smart and passionate about everything....I respect that! You were never a competitor, though we were set up to be...that is rare. Just a friend. I'm sure you were greatly loved and will be greatly missed!

Dave was a good human being. I admire him for many reasons. The latest being his battle with cancer, where he always kept hope and faith alive. RIP my friend. Someday... I'll see you on the other side

I've many memories of David, from our Jr. High days, in Haysville, Ks.
What an awesome drummer he was, and quite a character!
Sad to hear of his passing, but happy he's know longer suffering!

Dave had a huge personality, but never used it to overshadow others...only to lift them up. He loved helping others, and laughing at everyday life happenings. He was one of the smartest people I have ever known, but I never saw him use his intelligence to make others feel less smart. What a wonderful soul! He will be missed.

He was a dreamer and never lost his faith in God. Loved him dearly.
