Chase – David G. Chase, II, age 77, of Jacksonville, Florida, passed away peacefully on July 8, 2025. He was born in Watertown, New York to the late David G. Chase and Flora Elva Holbrook Chase on September 9, 1947. Dave built a life marked by dedication to his work, his faith, and the simple joys that brought him happiness. After relocating to Florida, Dave spent many years serving his community as an Evidence Technician with the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office before retiring. His commitment to justice and meticulous attention to detail left a lasting impression on those who worked alongside him. Dave was a devoted member of Lannie Road Baptist Church in Jacksonville, Florida where he served faithfully as head Deacon. His leadership and steadfast presence were deeply valued by the congregation and reflected his strong spiritual foundation. Outside of work and church, Dave embraced life with enthusiasm. A passionate Florida Gator fan, he rarely missed a game and proudly supported his team through every season. Dave found great joy on the golf course and could often be found enjoying a round with friends or simply soaking in the peacefulness of the game. At home, he delighted in watching old black-and-white cowboy movies, a nostalgic pastime that brought him comfort and entertainment. Known for his sweet tooth, Dave never passed up a chance to indulge in desserts. Dave's memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew him through shared stories, cherished traditions, and the quiet strength he brought into their lives. He is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Nancy Louise Chase Carey; and niece, Merry Carey Turner.
Dave's leaves behind his loving wife, Charlene Chase; son, Eric (Whitney) Chase; daughter, Angie (Charles) Chelette; grandchildren, Dylan Chase, Sydney Chase, Tracee Chelette, Mackenzie Chelette, Maci Chelette; great grandchildren, Teegan Chelette, Savanah Chelette, Nathan May; brother, Richard (Robin) Chase; sister, Susan (Wes) Chase Lear; nieces, Marie Carey Powell, Melanie Carey Maynard, Christina Lear, Maria Sims.
