David Alan Collingsworth, affectionately known as "Dropz” passed away on November 9, 2025, at the age of 61, in Urbana, Ohio. Born on February 19, 1964, in Springfield, Ohio, Dave lived a life filled with passion, dedication, and love for his family. He will be profoundly missed and cherished in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him.
Dave dedicated 29 years of his career to Rittal, where he was a very proud employee. Among his many interests, one of Dave's greatest joys in life was spending time with his beloved family. He had a passion for cooking out, and his gatherings were a testament to the love he shared with them. Dave took immense pride in being a huge Ohio State football fan and a devoted Cincinnati Bengals supporter. The thrill of the game matched the excitement of his other loves— riding his Harley Davidson, collecting Budweiser memorabilia, and visiting the casinos. Music was another passion that he had, particularly the timeless tunes of ZZ Top and AC/DC, which often served as the soundtrack to his life.
He is survived by his two daughters, Brittany Loree (Clint) Castle and Amber Lynn (Matt) Sprinkle, who have been a constant source of joy in his life. The laughter and happiness of his grandchildren, Avari, Hayden, and Hailey Castle, were treasures he held dear. Dave's siblings, Danny Collingsworth and Melinda (Tim) Williams, along with his special niece, Yantia (Stephen) Wiseman, share in the profound loss of a kind-hearted brother and uncle. He is also remembered fondly by multiple extended family members who adored him.
Dave was preceded in death by his loving parents, Ray and Darlene Collingsworth, as well as his maternal and paternal grandparents.
A gathering to celebrate his life will be held on November 16, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Walter and Lewis Funeral Home in Urbana. Donations may be made to help Dave's family with unexpected expenses to the funeral home.
