Funeral Services for Mr. David Paul Colson, 59, of Rayville, LA, will be 2:00 PM Monday, June 5, 2023, at Friendship Baptist Church in Baskin with Rev. Buddy McGurk officiating. Interment will follow at Pleasant Hale Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home Rayville.
Mr. Colson was born April 10, 1964 and passed away on May 30, 2023. He was a member of Friendship Baptist Church. Mr. Colson was a master welder by trade, who worked all over the United States. He enjoyed being outdoors, hunting, fishing, gardening, cooking, grilling, and listening to Rock N Roll and Gospel music.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Leon D. Colson and Ina Claire Hewitt Colson; paternal grandparents, Leon John Colson and Myrtle E Young Kraeer; and maternal grandparents, James N. Hewitt and Ruby I. Knowles Hewitt.
Survivors include his wife of 12 years, Lisa Colson; children, Anthony Colson and wife Heidi, Jessica Landau and husband Michael, Theresa Correa and husband Brandon, and Jessie Perry; eight grandchildren, Seth Martinez, Josiah Colson, Zoe Perry, Kiera McLendon, Luke Elijah, Johnathan Colson, David P. Colson II, and Illana Marjorie; siblings, April Colson Gardner and husband Sam, Steven Colson and wife Christy, Jeff Colson, Scott Colson and wife Emily, Dawn Pickel and husband Harvey; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and many special friends.
Pallbearers will be Mark Beatty, Kevin Fife, Matthew Gill, Jaimie Eaton, Chris Jackson and Tony Jackson.
Memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
Visitation will be from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM Sunday, June 4, 2023, at Friendship Baptist Church in Baskin.
