David P. Condon Jr. (Dave), beloved father, grandfather, husband and dedicated public servant, passed away on December 9th, 2025 at the age of 72, after a very long and courageous battle with cancer. He had far more than nine lives, facing every challenge with strength, grit, and an unmistakable sense of humor.
Born on September 29, 1953 in the Bronx, a lifelong Pelham resident Dave devoted his life to service, integrity, and helping others. He proudly served as a Pelham police sergeant for 40+ years and as an FBI trained police firearms instructor, mentoring countless officers with patience, discipline, and unwavering professionalism. He truly enjoyed being a firearms instructor, teaching firearms and building entry for the Pelham police department and the police Academy
Dave was the kind of man who would give the shirt off his back without hesitation. If a friend had anything break in the middle of the night — plumbing, electric, or anything at all — he was the first to show up, tools in hand, ready to help. His generosity and instinct to take care of others were simply who he was.
Above all, he was a deeply loving and devoted grandfather. He lit up whenever he saw or spoke about his grandchildren. Some of his happiest moments were spent with them on Cape Cod, taking them to all his favorite spots and creating traditions they will carry forever. He cherished going to Renegades games, carnivals, fireworks, and anything that meant time with the kids. Nothing brought him more joy.
He also had a playful, mischievous side — he loved sneaking up on people to give them a harmless scare or trying to catch you with a quick pressure-point squeeze, always followed by that unmistakable grin. His warmth, humor, and spirit made him unforgettable.
Dave was predeceased by his mother, father, and loving sister. He is survived by his wife Joan; his loving daughters Sheila (Jeremy) and Teresa; the lights of his life, his grandchildren Vittorina "Rina" and Doriano 'Dori"; his niece and nephew, Melissa (Sam) and Peter David; as well as countless family and friends who will love and miss him dearly.
He will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him.
